how it works

Contact:

Email me with a phone number and describe the documentary package you want.

Phone call:

We discuss your project and schedule a consultation.

Consultation (first visit):

We have an in-person consultation where we:

  • schedule a date to film
  • choose interview location(s)
  • outline the talking points in your documentary
  • discuss other relevant issues (music selection, etc.)

Interview (second visit):

I film your interview where I prompt you with the topics from the outline we created.

Edit Interview:

I edit the interview and then send you a list of all the topics which we discussed.

This list will include more detail than the original outline and will allow you to compile photos that correspond to what was said during the interview.

Photo selection:

You select your photos.

You scan them so I can have them on a flash drive.

If you don't want to scan them, then I can take the photos and scan them myself.

Photo discussion (third visit):

I return to meet with you to discuss the photos (family member names, context, etc.).

I leave with the photos on a flash drive or with the photos themselves to scan.

Your part is done and I begin the longer phase of editing.

Final edit approval (final visit):

Several months later - depending on the scope of the project - I'll give you a DVD/Blu-Ray so you can watch the documentary and request any changes.

If no changes are necessary, I will deliver the copies a few days later.

If you want to make changes, I'll update the project and then deliver the copies.

You pay once I deliver the copies.
